scholarships to deserving seniors of the class 2010. The announcements were made
during Commencement, which was held at the n’Telos Pavilion in downtown
Portsmouth.

The I. C. Norcom High School Boys
Varsity Basketball team won the Eastern District Championship, the Eastern
Regionals and the AAA State Championship.
A ‘Celebration of Excellence’, sponsored by the ICNAA, Inc. and the
Alumni Athletes was held on Friday, May 21 at 7 PM in the Edmonds Center of St. Mark Missionary
Baptist Church. Head Coach Leon
Goolsby was selected as Associated Press’ "State Coach of the Year" and Dorian
Finney-Smith, Associated Press’ "State Player of the Year’.
The Hoodie Awards
The Steve Harvey Hoodie Award honors local business establishments, religious
and community leaders, churches and high schools for their contributions and
excellence within various neighborhoods. This year Norcom is one of the four
nominees. Last year school won computers. Log in to

Vote Norcom for "Best High School."
I.C. Norcom Homecoming Weekend
The Annual I. C. Norcom High School Faculty Frolics,
Thursday, October 8, 2010, 8:00 p.m. in the Auditorium. The $5.00
donations will benefit Toys for Tots during the Christmas season. Final
Rehearsal Wednesday evening, October 7, 2010 in the auditorium 7:00 p.m. Alumni
early arrivals may participate in this rehearsal along with the general alumni
members
The Alumni Chorus and You, Saturday, October
10, 2020, 11:00 a.m., Third Baptist Church, 401 Godwin Street. All alumni
members are invited to attend this special rehearsal with the entire Third
Baptist Music Ministry. Dr. J. N. Lewis will be highlighted. Our school band
(including alumni members) will grace the church balcony with sacred music. Mr.
Emery Fears is one of the special guests.

Reunion Family Picnic/Cookout. Bring a covered dish (baked beans, pasta
salad, potato salad, etc.) and join your classmates at Sleepy Hole Park in
Suffolk, VA on Saturday, August 14, 2010,

no later than July 24, 2010. Class of 1970 is holding its 40-Year Reunion during

2010. Class of 1970 encourages everyone, including our classmates, to buy
tickets for the I.C. Norcom Alumni Association’s Dinner/Roast and Dance on
